The YCL-CXII is designed to offer a versatile, professional quality of sound, with a dynamic range and expressiveness that is suited to classical, jazz, and modern music. The projection and stability offered by the traditional design of the barrel and bell shapes make this clarinet ideal for use both in ensembles and as a solo instrument, due to excellent flexibility in tone and clarity at both ends of the volume spectrum.
An aged Grenadilla wood body offers a vintage tone and feeling, whilst hand-tapered undercut toneholes allow for unmatched intonation and precision. These inset Grenadilla toneholes are then individually hand-adjusted, ensuring the instrument has perfect relative pitch. The silver-plated keyworks are optimally set-up to maximise on their tonal quality, touch, and functionality. This is a clarinet with a professional, versatile sound, and liquid playability.
The YCL-CXII comes with a custom Yamaha ebonite 4CM mouthpiece, as well as a silver-plated ligature and mouthpiece cap. A high-quality Yamaha single clarinet case with cover is also included.
