The M-130's figure eight polar pattern makes the ribbon microphone the perfect choice for live and studio recording. Thanks to its design, the microphone picks up sound from both the front and rear of the capsule, whilst rejecting any undesirable ambience and noise from its null point, the sides. Tricks of the trade
Use the M-130 in conjunction with the beyerdynamic M160 Double Ribbon Microphone to create perfect mid-side recordings. This is an excellent technique to use in order to capture a detailed stereo picture of any source. What's more, thanks to the ribbon design, you'll find the M-130's high end roll off perfect for naturally taming harsh sources such as distorted guitars and cymbals!
