Synthogy Ivory II Upright Pianos is a collection of four upright pianos chosen for their quality and character. The library features two pianos with exceptional tonal and construction quality, one modern one vintage. Both are really great instruments for you if you want the intimacy that an upright can bring to your music. The final two are chosen for their unique tone. The first is a honky tonk piano that has been precisely detuned for that classic vintage piano sound. The final piano in this library is a tack piano, where metal tacks are attached to the hammers. Both these instruments are great for composers who are experimental in their instrument choices and like to blend unusual timbres.
The Ivory II piano engine is compatible with any of Synthogy's piano VSTs and is almost unrivalled in its level of detail and realism. If you are used to the feel of a real piano then the 18 layers of velocity in this VST will enable you to achieve the level of expression you would look for in an acoustic piano. The detailed controls and parameters will be helpful to both performers and producers, from altering the velocity curves to adjusting the key or pedal noise you will be able to make convincing performances and recordings using this plugin.

The first two instruments in this library are chosen for their clarity and the precision of their sound and construction. The Yamaha U5 is a brand new upright at the top of the Yamaha upright range. Made with the precision and quality of modern technology, this is a refined instrument which can reliably produce some great sounds and is well suited to any modern recording session.
The Vintage upright in this library is a 1915 Hume American made instrument. This is well regarded by piano technicians for its excellent build quality and brilliant sound. A particularly great instrument for blues and old school jazz, this instrument will still feel at home in any style you want.
The final two pianos are chosen not for their precision and clarity, but for their character and the beauty in their imperfections. If you are more experimental in your sound design or orchestration then these pianos may be of interest to you. The first is the 1914 Packard "honky tonk" piano. This piano is a true vintage and has the hallmarks of age in its timbre with the slightly detuned notes and the more mellow sound. This has been custom detuned to maintain that "honky tonk" sound.
The second is a tack piano from the early 1900s. The hammers of this instrument have tacks inserted into the felt, creating a unique tone that is faithfully replicated in this library. A perfect choice for experimental composers who are drawn to the unique and imperfect instruments of the world.
