More than just a guitar sampler
Careful not to be pigeonholed into one specific box, the Rob Papen Rhythm Guitar offers much more than a reductive sample library of electric guitar sounds. It's a new concept on how digital electric guitar tones can be created and instead should be thought of as a 'Rhythm guitar synthesizer'. Highly detailed and in stunning definition, the Rhythm Guitar RG takes the sounds of some very well known electric guitar instruments such as a Strat-style guitar and electric Steel String-style guitar and offers the ability to perform these instruments using the onboard sequencer. This is where your creativity in arrangement and composition will truly shine.
Each modelled instrument features several unique articulations to build your composition with and can be triggered using the sequencer. Chords and unique note articulations allow you to build realistic sounds with no barriers to your performance. For non-electric guitar players, you can connect a MIDI controller and perform in realistic guitar lines, chord progressions and more to your arrangement without constraint. This allows you to take your production to the next level and get yourself heard amongst the crowd.
Comprehensive control over your tone
As for most electronic guitar sounds, you will need a wide array of different tones to fit within a number of different styles, genres and mixes. Thankfully, the Rhythm Guitar RG has you covered. With no shortage of interesting and dynamic effects including the more common distortion and chorus to the wild and adventurous comb filter, auto-wah and waveshaper, you have plenty of scope to customise your tone to your exact needs.
It doesn't stop at effects. Electric guitars need amplification and in the Rob Papen Rhythm Guitar RG, you have five unique amp and cabinet simulations to choose from to give your overall sound a flavour twist that's ideal for fitting into the sounds of different genres and styles. Of course, your signal isn't complete there as the five-band EQ offers the ability to hone in on problem frequencies and take them out such as a boxy 600Hz or enables you to add air and bottom-end by boosting 60Hz and 8000Hz.
Reviews
"All in all, Rob Papen’s RG is a great plugin, but like any emulation, it’s not perfect. With an easy to use interface and a number of great-sounding guitar choices, as well as a wide range of effects that help get the sound that you want, RG is one of the best sounding rhythm guitar emulations we’ve heard." - All Things Gear
"As an inspirational composition tool, RG is peerless - it's like having an awesome sample library in completely editable format. Simply fire up RG, scroll through the many presets, edit one you like, build a beat behind it and you're on your way to a fresh, guitar-powered track in minutes." - Computer Music Magazine
