Meticulously modelled analog EQ – crafted alongside the makers
Designed in collaboration with Avedis Audio Electronics, the PSP E27 was created alongside the original manufacturers of the 500 series, ensuring it replicates the non-linear behaviour of the original analog design. Ensuring the utmost sonic precision, the PSP E27 captures every nuance of the E27 module recreating its unique characteristics in a digital plugin. Ideal for both mixing and mastering, the PSP E27 is a highly musical EQ, providing smooth control over your frequencies.
Each band features nine selectable frequencies to choose from, providing exceptional precision when controlling each band. One of the most unique parameters within the plugin is the gain control. The more you boost/cut the frequency, the narrower the bandwidth becomes, allowing for in-depth control of your sound. The original is highly sought-after and few and far between. This plugin allows you to utilise the power of the original 500-series module at a fraction of the original price (saving over 1,000 dollars!)
Expansive bandwidth and PA11 preamp
Whilst primarily configured to offer three bands of control, you can expand to six bands by clicking the x2 button; providing more nuanced control of your sound. Not only that, but the PSP E27 also includes a preamp component in the form of the PA11. The PA11 offers a drive control, a high-pass filter and a master output level control. Not only that, but it also offers advanced parameters such as a ‘28k’ button – which is great for adding some high-end ‘air’ to any sound source.
Reviews
”Once again PSP delivers something special: new EQ model – based on hardware that may not be familiar to everyone but delivers a superb sound the lovechild of a Neve/API” - Steve Levine – Grammy Winning Producer (The Clash, Culture Club, Beach Boys)
”High performance, musicality, ease of use and simplicity are key elements of the E27. Extended frequency response, smooth, sweet, proportional Q design add up to great sonic features making the E27 invaluable in every project I used it on.” - Sakis Anastopoulos – DigiSound Mastering, Forest Hill, VIC, Australia
”Very hardware sounding, very familiar sounding. The PSP E27 EQ shows that the line (or separation) between excellent sounding hardware, and beautifully accurate coding necessary to obtain that same musical hardware sound ‘in the box’ is, for all intents and purposes, gone. In 2016, in the DAW, or out, especially with this PSP EQ, it’s all the same now.” - George Daly – American music executive, video and music producer (The Cars, Janis Joplin, Carlos Santana)
