Many compact synths and music devices utilise 3.5mm TRS outputs. The OTO Machines Bébé Chérie is a six-channel fully analog mixer that hosts six 3.5mm TRS inputs. The Bébé Chérie has two types of channels, the first four channels have a variable input gain with a +34dB maximum and an asymmetrical diode clipper that adds harmonic distortion to your sounds, giving them unique depth and charisma. The first four channels also feature a tilt EQ that is flat when set to the middle. that depending on the direction you turn it, supplements or attenuates the high or low frequencies; turn the tilt EQ left to boost the low and reduce the high frequencies, turning the dial right will have the opposite effect.
The tilt EQ is flat when the dial is set to the middle. All four of these channels can be set to either a stereo or mono input. The other two channels don't have distortion, so you can use these for audio signals you want to maintain the purity of. These two channels are equipped with a two-band EQ and the input gain can be set to either 0 or +10dB. All six channels have their own independent volume level control.
The volume output of the Bébé Chérie mixer is controlled by the master bus section, here you'll find a master volume knob, along with a compressor and a Bliss pot high-frequency boost. The Compressor has a three-to-one ratio and is ideal for mixdown compression, as it has a fast attack time and a moderate release. Enhance the high frequencies of the master volume with the Bliss pot. This controls a high-frequency enhancer circuit that can be used to accentuate your high-end signals, making them bright and sharp. The headphones output is identical to the master volume output, running on the same amplifier. This means you can also use the headphones output as a secondary output, with the same levels and effects as the master. Another feature of the Bébé Chérie is that when any channel is muted, it will be routed to an alternative output that can be used for recording or to send the channel to an exterior FX unit.
Measuring less than 30cm in diameter, the Bébé Chérie is compact enough to fit in a standard backpack or kit bag. It's built from premium quality components, such as Panasonic film capacitors, THAT Corporation VCA's, Switchcraft 3.5mm TRS Connectors and a robust outer shell with a smooth pink finish. The Bébé Chérie runs on a 12 volt DC external power supply, internally boosted for pro audio headroom. The Bébé Chérie is ideal for any application, it’s a versatile and contemporary mixer suitable for both studio and live performance. An essential item for anyone with a miniature synthesizer setup or anyone looking for a small analog mixer for their studio equipment.
