A legend of the past, reborn
Brought to market in 1966, the original Elka Panther was designed to have it all. Tweakable and versatile families of sounds coupled with the intuitive usability offered something that others didn't at the time. A powerhouse of pop music in the '60s, the Elka Panther offered sounds unlike anything else at the time with each note blending up to four octaves and unrivalled sound design potential, the Elka Panther can be heard on a wide range of major recordings of the time. Only in production for a brief period up until 1972, the impact of the Elka Panther outstayed its short time on the market and is widely respected by producers and musicians a like. Now available as an exact replica, the Martinic Elka Panther brings this peripheral synth to the forefront.
Fully-featured recreation
The Martinic Elka Panther plug-in is a living and breathing instrument, with absolutely no samples used throughout the design. Using proprietary precise physical modelling, the Martinic Elka Panther reproduces the exact sonic characteristics, imbalances and impurities of the original design for an authentic experience. A bold and unique instrument, the Martinic Elka Panther has been designed to harness the exacting tone and character of the original whilst adding a suite of modern additions to create the perfect electric organ for modern producers, engineers and musicians.
Catering to the needs of modern productions, Martinic has included an amplifier simulator, complete with cabinet simulation provided by Studio Nord Bremen and Dr Bonkers Soundlab. Perfect for adding grit and crunch to your tone, the amplifier section allows you to use the Elka Panther in a wider array of genres than ever before. The crunching, powerful tones generated by the amplifier simulator mean you can blend in your organ tones with walls of distorted guitars in classic rock, progressive rock or even heavy electronic mixes.
Coupled with the inclusion of the amplifier simulator, Martinic has included a tremolo and delay unit from the LEM Echo Music unit. Perfect for adding depth, dimension and movement to your sound, the included effects go above and beyond what was ever possible with the hardware counterpart.
A world of sounds
Delivering a wide tonal palette, the Martinic Elka Panther is celebrated for its ability to play both aggressively and softly. Everything from intense to articulate and delicate tones are possible with only a few tweaks. Blending the mixture knob to enhance the harmonics coupled with increasing the vibrato provides a thick and heavy sound. Deactivating the tone switches acts in the opposite, creating a filtered sound that's subtle and gentle, ideal for lead playing.
Beautifully rich in tone, every single key can produce notes across three octaves, with independent filtering and mixing abilities to offer a tremendous range of powerful sound design capabilities. As well as boasting a wide range of tones, the Martinic Elka Panther can simulate the sounds of different instruments through the tone decay controls. Replicating the tonal qualities of a hammer hitting on a piano string, the Elka Panther delivers a percussive sound that's ideal for recreating everything from an organ, piano, Wurlitzer sounds and much more.
