Authentic sounds in real spaces
Not only does Piano V offer 12 distinct and beautiful pianos, but each is placed into one of 12 customised spaces and surrounded by equipment specialised to maximise its sonic potential. Enjoy the warm balanced sound of the American Grand, the softer resonance of the German Grand, the bright and pristine shine of the Japanese Grand, and the immediate clarity of the Pop Grand. Furthermore, the Classical Upright offers wide dynamics and intimately rich harmonics, the Jazz Upright boasts a rounder and more mellow sound for expressive blues and jazz, the Pop Upright produced a close sound with a huge dynamic range, and the Piano-bar Upright comes full of quirk and character. Take an experimental edge with the Plucked Grand which swaps hammers for plucks to produce a uniquely resonance stringy sound, the Tack Upright with altered hammers to produce a sharper and more metallic attack, the Glass Grand with an urgent edginess that boldly sings the higher frequencies, and finally the Metal Grand bringing distinct overtones suited to modern cinematic and ambient sounds.
Intuitive control
Take control of Piano V with the most essential controls available from the main window. Tweak, customise, and play your sounds in real-time, uninterrupted. Quickly switch between any of the 12 piano models for quick comparisons, refine your sound with four versatile controls to define the perfect response, clarity, and character for any style, and dial in ambience with the Reverb control.
Custom piano studio
Dive deeper into Piano V's extensive modelling and get to grips with each instrument's mechanical behaviour, and musical response, and even define the space and microphones used to record it. Adjust hammer action and refine dynamic response with the action parameter. Shape projection and resonance with acoustics. Lift the lid for a full sound, adjust the soundboard response, and dial in Duplex resonance for harmonic overtones. Carefully arrange how your piano is captured by selecting one of the multiple microphone configurations, furthermore, incorporate room sound into the mix and inject extra stereo width. Tailor piano tuning, introduce dissonance, and even develop unique harmonic content for your mixes, plus you can age your strings for a characterful worn-in sound. Dial in additional noise from hammers, keys, and pedals, to create a sense of reality and an in-motion feel. Finally, precisely match Piano V to your playing style and calibrate it to any MIDI controller simply by playing the instrument.
Powered by technology
Using proprietary modelling algorithms, Piano V is able to recreate the iconic instruments down to the component parts to create unrivalled realism and immersion. Unmatched in analog emulation, Piano V is powered by TAE and Phi technologies. TAE offers component-level modelling to accurately present the characteristics and behaviour of the instrument, whilst Phi's state-of-the-art physical modelling brings the acoustic properties into the virtual world for hyper-realism. The result is truly a next-level sound that is indistinguishable from the original to add to your productions.
Reviews
"I love the Arturia Piano Vi because you can adjust the mechanical noise - I like not using the piano just as an instrument but using it as a sound object as well." - Rodriguez Jr.
"Going through the models of the Piano V was really exciting (for someone who was taught classical piano from an early age) was really exciting. Glass and metal sounds are now possible and they sound crazy." - Barry Burns (Mogwai)
