The KM-7 Mk-II features Seymour Duncan's Nazgul and Sentient pickups, delivering searing highs, grinding mids, and a tight lows perfect for the modern player. The Sentient humbucker is situated at the neck position, offering a balanced and versatile sound with a dynamic response. This humbucker can produce incredibly clean tones thanks to its articulate vintage output, providing a wide harmonic range. The Nazgul humbucker is placed in the bridge position and moved closer to provide a brighter tone with a sharp pick attack. With its large ceramic magnet and custom wiring specs, the Seymour Duncan Nazgul offers the perfect blend of note articulation and saturation, creating powerful chugs with a tight bass response and an aggressive high-end gain.
This Schecter is also equipped with a push/pull pickup coil tap, providing players with a huge amount of tonal options. Located on the tone control, the coil-tap allows the pickups to switch from a standard humbucker to a single-coil, expanding this guitar’s tonal possibilities and delivering an extremely versatile performance. While this features is perfect for experimentation, it is also excellent for live situations when an array of tones are required.
Keith Merrow's signature Schecter features a body constructed from high quality swamp ash, offering a lightweight and resonant design. The swamp ash creates a pleasantly sweet, airy tone with a classic 'twang' character, offering firm lows, pleasing highs, slightly scooped mids, and an excellent amount of sustain. The maple top’s flaming provides a visually stunning and unique style, whilst the bevel edges offer a comfortable play. Also featuring maple binding, black hardware, and a Hipshot bridge, the Schecter is given a natural pearl finish to create a visually stunning look which shows off the natural figuring of the maple and swamp ash.
A maple and wenge neck provides this guitar's tone with extra tightness, delivering firm lows, a nice midrange, and bright characteristics with a snappy attack. The ebony fingerboard delivers a balanced tone, offering a very responsive and bright attack with a smooth sustain. The natural feel of the ebony provides a smooth performance, perfect for guitarists who enjoy playing fast. The guitar also comes with many other features including Grover machine heads, 24 stainless steel frets, and offset/reverse dot inlays with glow in the dark side dots.
The neck and fingerboard offer an incredibly smooth performance, providing a fast playing experience ideal for shredding and soloing. The ultra-thin ‘C’ profile is designed to offer the ultimate comfort for technical players, allowing the fretting hand to naturally cup the neck to ensure comfort across the entire fingerboard. The neck is also designed with carbon fibre reinforcement rods to prevent bowing, no matter how much string tension the neck is under.
