Everything about the JTC Drum & Loop Pro is designed to make your life easy. Each of its many functions is adjusted via a simple, well labelled array of controls. As well as punching in and out of record mode as you might expect, the left main footswitch can be double-pressed, or pressed and held in various modes to clear your loops, undo the last layer, start and stop the loop track, or stop the playback altogether.
The right hand button controls your drum machine. It can be used to simply drop the drums in and out of a performance, or tapped during playback to add pre-programmed drum fills, for a natural, engaging performance.
A pair of mini-LED indicators make keeping track of the JTC's loop record status a breeze. Meanwhile, the 'Rhythm' LED flashes in time with the tempo during playback. The large digital display has many functions, showing all kinds of settings - from the selected memory bank to which of the two Start Modes is selected - as you adjust them. Having every parameter visible in this way makes this incredibly in-depth pedal one of the most user-friendly in its class.
There are two ways in which you can begin your Drum & Loop performance. In Normal-Record mode, the loop begins the moment you click the left footswitch, or switch to Auto-Record, which begins the loop recording the instant it detects a signal from your instrument. This is perfect for players with other pedals to adjust or engage at the same time
The JTC's four handy Stop Modes have their own indicator lights, and a dedicated button, allowing you to choose between them during playback and performance. Choose between a standard Instant Stop, Fine Stop, (which stops at the end of the current loop), One Shot mode (which plays the current loop once - ideal for backing tracks), and Fade Out, which applies a smooth, ten second fade to silence from the moment you engage it.
The NUX Drum & Loop Pro pedal has been conceived with audiophile musicians in mind. 24-bit recording ensures every nuance of your playing remains crystal clear, while industry-standard True Bypass and a fully analog dry signal maintain maximum character throughout your chain.
A wealth of intuitive output options allow you to split the pedal's instrumental and drum signals in whatever way works best for your scenario.
For performers, the two signals can be sent via separate 1/4" jacks, allowing you to plug your guitar into an amp, while the drums go directly to the PA - with or without NUX's built-in drum frequency optimisation.
In the studio, cut out the need for an amp by applying the JTC's onboard cab simulator, or send both signals directly from both outputs for home rehearsal with one or two amplifiers. Whatever the musical scenario, NUX has thought of a routing option that lets you get the most out of the Drum & Loop Pro, with the minimum of fuss.
The NUV Drum & Loop Pro's micro-USB connectivity allows you to upload your own backing tracks and loops directly to the pedal from your device. Any song in WAV format can be added to the onboard library, and if you have an mp3, NUX even provides you with free software to convert it.
Once uploaded, your tracks can be used just like any other loop - with or without the onboard drum machine - ideal for karaoke-style performance, or fine-tuning your performances at home. The USB port also serves as a connection point for firmware updates, so you can keep your pedal in tip top condition.
