The AFC155 Contemporary Archtop features a combination of solid spruce and flamed maple to deliver superb tonal qualities and stunning aesthetics. The spruce top offers a broad dynamic range and accommodates a wide variety of playing styles, making it a common choice for soundboards as its longevity and strength provide a sturdy structure. Combined with flamed maple, players can achieve a loud, projective acoustic tone that sounds great in any setting. With its hollow body, the AFC155 delivers a resonant tone that can be used acoustically or amplified. A pair of classic F sound holes are also included, providing an authentic 1950s appearance as well as add to the overall sound delivery.
As well as providing a resonant body with comfortable contours, a three-piece mahogany/maple neck is also incorporated for added comfort and an enhanced tone. This three-piece neck is mounted with a bound ebony fingerboard with acrylic and abalone block inlays. Ebony is a great choice for fingerboards, as its natural smoothness reduces finger fatigue, ideal for fast playing styles, and provides the perfect platform for percussive styles such as tapping or hammer-ons. It’s bound edges and Artstar fret edge treatment provides a smooth play and fluid hand flexibility across the whole neck.
The Artcore AFC155 is equipped with a set of stylish Magic Thumb-Mini pickups, offering the ideal balance of classic tone and clear articulation for the perfect performance. While its small design makes them blend in with the natural aesthetics of the guitar, they are still capable of packing a punch. Players can deliver a beautifully clean high-end response for fast melodies and complex chords, or turn up the power for extra crunch perfect for classic rock. The Magic Thumb-Mini's also feature ''floating'' mounts, ensuring the guitar's spruce top is free from dampening and can resonant to its full capability for a richer acoustic tone. Wired with individual volume and tone controls, the Artcore AFC lets you fully sculpt your sound for all styles of contemporary jazz playing.
The Artcore Contemporary Hollow Body includes a classic ebony bridge and VT14 tailpiece, providing excellent tuning stability, incredible string resonance transfer, and an effortlessly cool aesthetic. The bell-shaped control knobs provide a refined feel whilst the pickguard and tailpiece cover adds to its good looks. The Ibanez Artcore is finished with gold coloured hardware to complete its vintage appearance.
