Unlike other BTB models, this 2018 addition Ibanez BTB1825 Premium 5 String Bass features a sleek body shape with smooth contours and a curved bevel, creating an elegant feel and a unique appearance. This visually stunning Premium 5 String Bass is constructed from mahogany, delivering a rich, warm, resonant tone that is fat, full, and accommodates numerous playing styles and genres with ease. For added comfort, the BTB1905 Premium Bass features a double cutaway, promoting the access to upper fingerboard shredding whilst offering flexibility across the whole fingerboard.
The BTB1905 Premium comes equipped with a pair of Aguilar DCB pickups, located in the neck and bridge position. Aguilar DCB pickups are manufactured with dual ceramic bar magnets that deliver a dynamic and responsive attack, perfectly-suited to most playing styles. These high-quality pickups ensure no sonic-characteristics are lost as each string vibrates, producing an accurate sound whilst capturing every nuance of a player's individual style with exceptional detail. Furthermore, achieving the perfect tone is easy with the BTB1905's 3-band EQ, 3-way frequency switch and bypass switch.
The Ibanez BTB1905 Premium features a 9-piece panga panga, purpleheart, and maple neck-through design, delivering enhanced sustain and stability. With a mixture of panga panga, purpleheart and maple, the neck adds a bright attack with a subtle mellow warmth and resonance to the mahogany body's fat warmth. In addition, the neck is also constructed and equipped with graphite reinforcement rods which adds a more defined tonality to the guitar's overall sound. Furthermore, with graphite reinforcement rods, the player is certain to benefit from the durability and stability on offer. A neck reinforced with graphite rods is less likely to twist and warp as the bass ages, providing an instrument with a long life-span as well as no movement within the neck overtime. The BTB1905 also features a 35-inch scale neck for more expressive styles of play. Its extra-long neck provides a tight yet even string tension for a strong low-end and added singing-sustain to the higher strings, as well as providing superior articulation.
The Ibanez BTB1905 Premium features a bound panga panga fingerboard that has medium stainless steel frets with premium fret edge treatment as well as a zero fret construction. Panga panga is a more sustainable tonewood than rosewood, and is similar in tone and looks to that of rosewood. This sonically pleasing substitute tonewood adds warmth and resonance to the overall tone whilst providing a smooth platform for the left hand. Additionally, its bound fingerboard and premium fret edge treatment allows the player to perform liquid smooth runs, perfect for fast playing styles, providing enhanced and easier playability. Furthermore, this premium Ibanez bass guitar also has stainless steel frets, renowned for their superbly bright tone and long durability, as well as offering a smooth platform for performing string bends. A zero fret is also included and provides accurate intonation. For added aesthetic appeal, the fingerboard is decorated with off-set abalone dot inlays that complement the guitar's overall style and design beautifully.
