A world of sonic options
Limitless potential. The SY-1000 hosts a countless number of ways to experiment with your sound, featuring three simultaneous instrument patches. Each instrument contains a myriad of distinctive effect types to choose from, that you can combine and layer for a totally distinctive synth sound. What's more – a dynamic synth gives you 10 oscillator waveforms to get creative with. And you can shape each sound your way, using a range of filters and two step sequencers. Put simply, the SY-1000 is every synth sound in one. Plug in, and feel inspired.
The most powerful guitar synth yet
This is the next step. Because Boss have incorporated decades of research, along with the latest software and hardware developments to create the SY-1000: their most advanced and powerful guitar synth to date. Featuring six times the processing power of its predecessor, the SY-300, its latest incarnation delivers unprecedented sound and expression. And it's all thanks to Boss' newly developed sound engine, processing each string individually for exceptional articulation and response. And, with GK processing taking on your guitar's natural envelope, each performance will sound and feel authentic.
All this has been made possible by the 48kHz/32 bit processing that runs through the entirety of the SY-1000's design. Put simply, this allows every note you play to ripple with clarity even after processing. With zero latency. No unexpected glitches, no delay – just ultra-high performance and dynamic response. The way it should be.
A new way to experiment with your sound
Not only does the SY-1000 let you sculpt your synth sounds. But Boss have even included instrument modelling into its intricate design. Select your preferred electric, acoustic, or bass guitar types for a unique twist on your playing experience. Want a bass sound out of your guitar? The SY-1000 makes it possible in effortless fashion, and vice versa. Each instrument features independent tunings, EQs, virtual amp settings, and so much more. Different instrument. Different sound. Different story.
Everything at your feet
Nobody likes having to flick through endless menus to get their sound. With a large display and six control knobs, you can easily adjust the settings of your virtual amp or synth effects on the fly. With eight integrated footswitches, you have full control over which effects you have active. Engaging a pedal is as easy as stomping on the corresponding footswitch - just like you do with individual pedals on a board. You can also use the switches to change between presets, both in-built and user-generated. With amazing sound and intuitive controls, the SY-1000 makes performing stress-free.
Universally compatible
Equipped for every musical occasion. The Boss SY-1000 comes loaded with USB connectivity to record audio tracks directly into your digital audio workstation or recording software. Whether you want to capture your fully modulated tone, or just the dry signal - the SY-1000 can do it all. You can even send signals from within your DAW through the SY-1000 to add the raw synth power to a variety of audio types. The SY-1000's USB connection also allows you to build patches with the dedicated BOSS Tone Studio editor and download new patches from the BOSS Tone Central website, giving you total freedom to shape your tone.
The SY-1000's incredible functionality doesn't end there, though. Because Boss have incorporated MIDI compatibility into its intricate design. What this means, is that you can play direct and your DAW is able to process it into MIDI for you to edit and alter in the studio. And it does so individually for both bass and guitar, ensuring the MIDI tracks are tailored to the instrument you play. One last trick. The SY-1000 features a 13-pin output, allowing you to plug your Roland GK divided pickup direct, and truly make the most of your synth sounds. It's a musician's workhorse.
