The sound of the ‘80s
Capture an iconic sound that graced countless 80s line-ups, with a signature character that defined the sound of a decade and beyond. Thanks to heaps of digital charm and an intuitive interface, the Emulator II has been used by everyone from Depeche Mode to Trent Reznor, Genesis, New Order, John Carpenter, and more. Offering a unique take on sound design, part of what made the Emulator so popular was its ability to behave like a synth, but with the flexibility of using samples. Its powerful engine allows up to eight multi timbral sample layers to be played all at once. Now you can capture the magic of some of popular music's most iconic sound, straight from the original Emulator libraries. Emulator II V combines these with a dynamic modern selection of samples that sound great in a huge variety of musical contexts. Better still, import your own samples into Emulator II V's comprehensive sampling engine to give them that signature retro treatment, or dive deep into enhanced editing tools to carve out a distinctive sonic character.
Digital goes lo-fi
The unmistakable Emulator sound combines 8-bit digital crunchiness with a warm analog filter for a distinctly lo-fi sound that instantly fills a mix with character. Utilising exclusive True Analog Emulation (TAE) technology, every circuit has been painstakingly reproduced in digital form to model the sound and behaviour of the original down to every nuance. Plus, you can choose between a modern DAC or a faithful emulation of the original DAC to bring out the best of Emulator II's lo-fi tone.
Powerful modern enhancements
Emulator II V captures an authentic and immersive interface with painstaking attention to detail and faithfulness to the original, but there's more power than ever under the hood. Take a deep dive into the built-in display to access in-depth sampling editing, expressive modulation, and a suite of cutting-edge studio-quality effects that take the Emulator II's abilities further than ever before. The advanced panel adds a range of powerful modern enhancements including the ability to adjust the behaviour of each of your eight samples with parameters such as transpose, looping, play direction, trig delay and much more. Also, assign zones to note ranges on your keyboard to define dynamic interactions between the notes played and the effect on samples. Finally, Arturia has added 11 effects algorithms with three effects slots that can run in parallel or series to spice up sounds in exciting new ways. Add isolated reverb to a snare sample, or a swirling phaser to the master output, Emulator II V is more dramatic than ever.
Powered by technology
Using proprietary modelling algorithms, Emulator II V is able to recreate the iconic instruments down to the component parts to create unrivalled realism and immersion. Unmatched in analog emulation, Emulator II V is powered by TAE and Phi technologies. TAE offers component-level modelling to accurately present the characteristics and behaviour of the instrument, whilst Phi's state-of-the-art physical modelling brings the acoustic properties into the virtual world for hyper-realism. The result is truly a next-level sound that is indistinguishable from the original to add to your productions.

"All these synths are blowing my mind - Emulator II V especially is opening creative doors I didn't know existed. Wonderful to have this wide a range of sounds at the ready." - Elliot Moss (Singer / Producer)
