When attached to the Se Electronics Universal Shock Mount, the pop shield provides optimal protection from sibilance and plosive sounds that can lower the quality of your recordings. Sibilance and plosive sounds occur when a vocalist is saying any word that expels air from their mouth, such as words beginning with ‘S’ or ‘P’. The air expelled can hit the microphone's capsule and cause distortion within recordings. The perforated design combats this by directing the air blasts to the side of the screen, missing the microphone and retaining the best possible audio quality.
