The four channel Marc 2 Pro is the perfect solution for professional audio transfer of a digital audio workstation and offers uncompromised high-end-features.
Product Ref: 10156
The balanced analog and digital connectors, including an internal connector for a CD-ROM drive with digital audio output, excel due to a wide range of driver support and very low latency values. This features are completed by a wordclock input and DAT-marker support. All features qualifies the Marc 2 PRO especially for the usage in pro audio and mastering studios, post pro and broadcast.
The effective hardware design and a continuously evolving high speed driver suite provide a disturbance-free operation and minimal latency values in all software surroundings.
Flexible routing, start-stop synchronisation of all in- and outputs, sample exact transfer on all channels and direct delay-free controlling of the inputs (zero-latency monitoring) make the Marc 2 PRO the ideal partner for demanding harddisk-recording, as well.
Like every member of the Marc-series, the Marc 2 PRO excels due to easy installation and a steadily controlled high quality of manufacturing. It operates perfectly with Intel and AMD based systems.
In-/Outputs
Analog: Two analogue in- and two analogue outputs in full duplex architecture in connection with sound optimized circuit design provide professional audio specifications. A/D and D/A converters of the renowned manufacturer AKM, as well as the complete hard- and software architecture are design for 24bit/96 kHz operation.
The analogue I/Os are lead outside via balanced XLR-connectors.
The THD on the A/D side is measured with 104 dB(A) and on the D/A side with approx. 114 dB(A). Software controlled input amplifiers allow incoming signals to be boosted by +18 dB or cut by -40 dB. All input channels can be routed to any output - also on multiple installed audio systems of the same type. The monitoring modes on-punch and on-rec are supported by all input channels.
Digital: The card provides electrical and optical in- and outputs for S/PDIF (RCA and optical) and AES/EBU (XLR). They can be operated with 24bit and 96 kHz. This way high quality converters or signal processors can transmit data without quality-loss due to dithering or resampling. At the same time there is a 2-pol digital input on the card which can be fed with e.g. the signal of a CD-ROM drive. The digital XLR and RCA-Connectors are located on the extender board just like the WC-input.
Wordclock: The Marc 2 Pro provides a wordclock input (BNC-connector) on the extender board. With this, the card can be synchronized to an external wordclock signal.
Multi-card-operation/cascading
The Marc 2 PRO is capable of easily being cascaded to other marian audio systems. This way up to four members of the marc-series can be combined to a very affordable multi-channel system, in which only one single driver manages controlling all parameters of the same marc-type. In connection with the syncbus it takes care for perfect synchronisation of all individual systems and makes all marc systems available to one ASIO-software application.
Driver suite
The Marc 2 PRO provides a complete list of drivers for windows.
The multi-client driver for ASIO, GSIF 2, WDM with kernel streaming and real, non emulated DirectSound support, constantly improved and expanded, provide minimal latency values for all software environments. Modular and handy driver dialogues enable the manipulation of many parameters and the display of all in and outputs. That includes exact level metering, flexible monitoring and synchronisation settings.
