Key Features
Vox's unique design philosophy and carefully selected components come together to form the Tone Garage Series, capturing pure analog essence. The Flat 4 Boost pedal provides a warm tone alongside a dynamic tube feel.
Product Ref: 39415
The Flat 4 Boost pedal does more than give you full range boost, it can also be used for a mid-boost, treble and overdrive boost.
A Baxandall tone circuit gives you adjustment from the flat position to the desired boost or cut range. Raise the gain for a low-cut overdrive sound that's strongly reminiscent of sought-after vintage tones. If you play lead, Flat 4 is great for a mid-boost, letting you switch the response of the mid-range. Blues guitarists will enjoy the Flat 4 as it highlights their picking nuances.
Vox's newly-developed Hi-Volt technology means the 12AX7 vacuum tube can operate at 200V while still running on batteries. The circuit is discrete but works at 20V, high voltage compared with other effects.
Vacuum tubes are generally considered big in relation to today's usual components, but VOX were able to take this technology and still keep the Flat 4 small enough to fit snugly on your pedalboard.
The Flat 4's gain control changes the tonal character in a more subtle way than simply changing the amplitude. From zero to max, you'll find an array of highly usable and natural overdrive tones.
