The Luna Floral Concert features a striking flame maple top, which not only offers a stunning aesthetic, but delivers great tonal properties that are ideal for a wide range of genres. With a flame maple top and maple back and sides, the Floral Concert produces bright singing highs, a strong upper mid-range, with good sustain and plenty of bite. Built-In Electronics by Luna

The Floral Concert features Luna's own built-in preamp, this compact system offers basic sound tweaking for live and rehearsal environments. The controls include sliders switches for bass, treble, and volume, enabling players to add a little more treble, as well as bass to their acoustic sound. The Floral Concert is ideal for the gigging ukulele players, or for those who want to amplified sound for practice at home and jamming with friends.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

Constructed from mahogany, the Floral Concert's neck offers resonance and great durability. Many ukulele necks are made from mahogany because the wood responds greatly to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that delivers a warm, bright, sizzling-sparkle that really shines through when using finger picking techniques. Its rosewood fingerboard and bridge also provide lasting sustain and clarity to the overall tone. The fingerboard is sprinkled with Luna's exclusive mother of pearl moon phase inlays for added elegance.

Concert Ukulele Body

The Floral ukulele features a concert body shape, which produces rich and clear sound suitable for numerous techniques and styles of play. The Floral Concert has 19 frets and has become the choice of preference for ukulele soloists due to its extended range. In addition, the concert shape is slightly larger than standard soprano size and provides more volume, as there is more room for sound to vibrate around the body.

Luna History

Yvonne Villiers is an accomplished stained-glass artist who envisioned Luna guitars. Her inspiration for a line of guitars designed to maximise playing comfort came from her mother, Hilda Villiers, a bassist for over 40 years. Whilst watching her mum on stage, Yvonne couldn't help but notice the massive struggle her mum had whilst playing. With her mum being petite and using such a heavy instrument, she used to complain of how hard it was to be a woman and try to play these big bass guitars.

Yvonne then questioned if there were others like her mum that struggled with the same problems and pains. She came up with the idea of a woman specific guitar, uniquely tailored to fit their bodies, their hands, and their musical styles. Yvonne moved on to created Luna guitars, a line of guitars made for female musicians of all ages and crafted with luminous visual beauty to engage women's minds and spirits along with their talent.

Yvonne already had brilliant artistic skills and use of colour, she then applied the same techniques as she did with her award winning stained glass work to her new line of guitars. She is known for using rich colours that shimmer and shine with every movement providing an eye-catching design along with the great musical tones Luna guitars deliver. Yvonne's design expertise has led so many men to respond to Luna's well-crafted, spirit-engaging instruments that the company now creates guitars for both female and male musicians of all ages.
