Intricately crafted to provide all-encompassing sound. The Hagstrom Super Swede features the company's trademark Resinator wood fingerboard. Hagstrom noticed that many typical guitar fretboard woods, such as ebony and rosewood, would often produce duller notes at certain areas of the scale. They set out to create a fretboard that would never give you anything other than perfect sharpness in every note.
The Resinator fretboard was born. Hagstrom pressure laminate a wood composite, producing a material much more stable and dense than traditional tonewoods. The result is a fretboard that delivers every note with balanced precision. You'll experience excellent articulation and projection in everything you play. Particularly brilliant for lead guitarists.
Ideally suited to a range of styles. The Hagstrom Super Swede Dark King is a guitar that never limits you in your playing. That's because of a versatile duo of Alnico pickups. You'll enjoy punchy brightness and a crisp attack courtesy of the Alnico 5 pickup at the bridge. This will further enhance the stunning sound of your soloing.
That's not all, though. The Super Swede is still a master at delivering well-balanced, rich-sounding chords, too. Your rhythm playing will benefit from remarkable resonance and sustain thanks to the Alnico 2 neck pickup. Fullness in sound to ensure your music has magnificent depth. Grab a guitar that gives you everything you need.
The optimum playing experience. Cherish every second you spend with this marvellous instrument in your hands. The Hagstrom Super Swede's mahogany neck with a slim "D" profile is the perfect feature to aid your playing.
The slim profile fits snugly into your hand, providing comfort all the time when you're playing. This is ideal for honing your skills in lengthy practice sessions, or for long live shows that you don't want to end. Furthermore, the shape and smoothness of the mahogany wood means your hand can fly up and down the guitar's scale at speed. Pacey solos and fast chord sequences will be easy. Capture thrilling rock 'n' roll sound.
Sometimes less is more. Occasionally, it doesn't take much to make a guitar look beautiful. Hagstrom have recognised that, producing an instrument that is both simple in its visual design, yet completely stunning.
Its completely black colour immediately gives the Hagstrom Super Swede a rock aesthetic. It'll shine beneath stage lights thanks to a gloss finish that adds an extra sparkle. Pearloid block inlays along the guitar's fretboard add an extra classy touch to the overall style. The genius in this guitar's magnificent image is in its simplicity.
The beginning of Hagstrom's story doesn't sound like one that ends with them creating some of rock 'n' roll's most iconic guitars. Founded in Sweden in 1925, the company actually started out life as accordion manufacturers. It was in 1958, during the very first era of rock 'n' roll, that Hagstrom first began designing guitars.
Synonymous with delivering powerful definition and exhilarating sound, Hagstrom's guitars soon started to be picked up by some of the music world's finest. Elvis Presley famously used one during his legendary '68 Comeback Special (which sold for over 50,000 dollars at auction in the nineties). Following this, artists as varied as Jimi Hendrix, David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, and even ABBA's Bjorn Ulvaeus would use Hagstrom guitars. Rooted in music history, Hagstrom guitars always give you iconic quality.
