This Signature LTD Marco Mendoza Bass is powered by a pair of premium Seymour Duncan pickups, consisting of a Hot P at the neck and a Hot J at the bridge. The Seymour Duncan Hot P offers extremely high output and a big, full sound. The heavy and aggressive attack makes it ideal for rock tones, yet it is a versatile pickup with good punch and warmth for any style. The Hot P is paired with a Hot Jazz at the bridge for a more jazzier tone with a full low end and an incredibly hot output. The sound produced has a warm growl and plenty of punch without too much top end sizzle.
The 5-piece neck is strong, sturdy and can cope with excellent amounts of fast and aggressive shredding. The maple and walnut together, offer bright yet warm tones, as well as a durable neck. The maple fingerboard provides a clear and defined tone with a zingy high end with good sustain.
The double cutaway body is crafted from alder, which offers an incredibly balanced tone, and great dynamic range which suits most musical styles. The alder body is lightweight and comfortable, and with the easier access to higher frets, it makes it a good choice for long gig nights or studio sessions. Its bright, sizzling highs, rounded lows, and beefy midrange give the MM-4FM excellent tonality for a variety of different music styles.
The flame maple top not only brings added brightness to the overall bass sound, it adds a beautiful texture to the guitar's appearance. The flame maple grain is visible through the dark see thru green burst finish, which is sure to stand out under the stage lights.
The MM-4FM is equipped with excellent hardware which includes a Gotoh 201B-4 Bridge and Grover Tuners with Hipshot Extender. The Gotoh Tuners keep in tune no matter how hard you play, while the Gotoh 201B-4 Bridge provides the bass with great intonation and excellent sustain.
