Solid Spruce & Solid Mahogany Body

The Dean Ukulele features a stunning solid spruce top, which yields crisp articulation and a broad dynamic range. Its solid spruce top delivers a sparkling high response and a tight, clear attack perfect for pronounced players. Spruce is also the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a versatile sound and accommodates numerous playing styles. The solid spruce top is paired with mahogany back and sides which delivers a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles.

Mahogany Neck & Rosewood Fingerboard

The Dean ML's neck is constructed from mahogany which offers great resonance and durability. The reason why many guitar necks are built from mahogany is because the wood responds greatly to different styles of play. With a soft V-shaped neck, this ukulele offers a comfortable and smooth play, providing a better grip and preventing cramped hands. The neck is topped with a rosewood fingerboard that delivers a bright, warm, sparkly tone that really shines through when using fingerpicking techniques. The rosewood fingerboard also provides a smooth and energetic playing experience and features pearl block fingerboard markers for an eye-catching appearance.

ML Ukulele Shape

The ML guitar shape was created in 1977 by Dean Zelinsky, providing an improved tone and sustain, and offering a stage-ready appearance that is ready to rock. The shape was made popular by Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell, providing players with this distinctive ML shape but in a compact uke size and construction. Its V shaped headstock and ML construction all contribute to the Ukulele's overall resonance and sound.
