Fantastic tonal depth. The Dave Mustaine Mako Glory features mahogany back and sides, adding a characterised warmth to its brightly toned spruce top. The mahogany, used for the back and side panels, delivers a meaty mid-range. This will allow you to produce punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please any playing style.
Experience amazing dynamic range and the crispest articulation thanks to a spruce top. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a versatile sound and accommodates any playing technique you can think of, from aggressive strumming to delicate fingerpicking. Furthermore, you'll enjoy superb resonance because of the wood's natural elasticity. The Mako Glory will sing beautifully whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm mid-range, and bright sparkling highs.
A neck and fingerboard combination that's comfortable and easy to play. The Mako features a slim D-shaped neck constructed to the specs of Dave Mustaine. This provides the feel of an electric bass guitar and is well-suited to players more used to playing electric, but wanting the more authentic, warmer sounds of and acoustic. This comfort also allows you fly up and down the neck with ease, meaning you can play at very high speed easily.
Great durability and resonance is offered by the mahogany wood used to craft the neck. It responds superbly to picking, strumming, and numerous other techniques easily. This sound is further enhanced by a smooth ebony fingerboard. This offers a bright and sustained tone to the overall sound, and is extremely comfortable to the touch. Amazing sound with unequalled comfort.
An edgy body shape which makes nailing difficult chords simple. The Dean Mako Glory features a Florentine cutaway body. The Florentine comes into a sharp point, resulting in a horn-like shape. This is a complex design and much more labour-intensive to craft than a regular Venetian body shape. Not only does this result in a distinctive image, but the cutaway profile provides access to the very highest notes on the fretboard. Enjoy complete freedom and the ability to play chords and hit notes that would otherwise be difficult.
Built for live performance. Equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp, the Mako Glory is fantastic for live shows at venues of all sizes. Take full control of your tone. The Fishman preamp features rotary controls for volume, bass, and treble. On top of this, the Fishman Isys+ also has a phase button, a low battery indicator, a separate battery box, and the added convenience of an on-board tuner. You'll be able to tweak and fine-tune your settings until you achieve the exact sound you're looking for. An easy-to-read LED screen means you can even do this in dark venues and environments. A perfect live companion.
Stand-out style. The Mako Glory's distinctive, decorative features project a totally edgy and unique appearance. These include an individual shark gill-shaped sound-hole, complemented by custom mother-of-pearl fingerboard markers, and a USA war-torn flag graphic. Dave Mustaine's signature is adorned on the truss rod cover and is part of a stunningly designed headstock. Die-cast machine heads in chrome finish off a magnificent aesthetic in fantastic style.
