Sub-Oscillator Phase Lock

The Erica Synths Black Wavetable VCO allows you to activate Phase Lock for the sub-oscillator. This eliminates the drifting of the sub-oscillator phase that emulates a marginally detuned analogue VCO. To do this, simply push and hold the BANK button for ten seconds. All of the BANK LEDs will blink once. Hold the button for the same amount of time to deactivate, displayed by the LEDs blinking three times.

Controls & I/Os

• BANK: This button is used to select your desired wavetable. LEDs below the button indicate the currently active wavetable in binary code (8+8 for the first two ROM chips). If you use the third ROM chip, the BANK LEDs will blink. To configure CV IN, push and hold the button for 2 seconds until one of the LEDs starts to blink. Push the button promptly to move through the LEDs and select a CV IN configuration:
  • LED 1 Blinks: CV IN is Bitcrush CV
  • LED 2 Blinks: CV IN is Bank Surf CV (in this mode, bank selection via the button is disabled)
  • LED 3 Blinks: CV IN is FM CV
  • LED 4 Blinks: CV IN controls the VCA
  • If no selection is completed within 5 seconds, the module goes back to bank select mode. The module will recall your CV IN configuration when powered off
• WAVE: Knob for manually moving through waves within the wavetable
• WAVE CV Knob: Adjusts the Wave Surf CV level
• 1V/OCT: 1V/Octave input. Quantized by default
• WAVE CV Input: Wave Surf CV input
• CV IN: Configurable CV input. Default setting is Bitcrush
• SUB OUT: Sub-oscillator output
• OUT: Overall VCO output
• CV LEVEL: Adjusts the configurable CV IN level
• SUB (1/2/3): Switch for selecting between one of three sub-oscillator waves. The first is -1oct, the second is -2oct, and the third is -1oct transistor sub-oscillator wave from Varishape VCO
• BITCRUSH: Knob for manually adjusting the Bitcrush level. Fully counter clockwise gives you no Bitcrush, whilst fully clockwise gives you maximum Bitcrush
• COARSE/FINE: Switch for selecting the range of the Frequency knob. Coarse is 10 octaves, whilst fine is 2 semitones. If you power on the module in Fine setting, it will generate a C4 note
• FREQUENCY: Knob for setting the VCO frequency
